Lowercase j

The lowercase j belongs to the descender loop family.
It begins like a light entry movement and extends into the descender space. The goal is a controlled downstroke, a narrow lower loop, and a clean return.
The dot should stay aligned and not float too far away from the letter.
Practice slowly and focus on five things:
Control the descender first, then check the dot placement.
- Start with a light controlled stroke.
- Pull into the descender space.
- Keep the loop narrow.
- Return with a clean hairline.
- Place the dot neatly above the form.
If the loop becomes too wide, slow down before the turn and release pressure earlier.
