Lowercase g

The lowercase g belongs to the descender loop family.
It combines an oval body with a descending loop. The goal is a balanced upper form, a narrow descender loop, and a smooth hairline return.
The lower loop should not become wide or balloon-like. Keep it narrow and controlled.
Practice slowly and focus on five things:
Keep the oval stable before moving into the descender loop.
- Build a stable oval body.
- Keep the counter balanced.
- Pull into the descender with controlled pressure.
- Keep the lower loop narrow.
- Return with a light hairline.
If the descender loop becomes too wide, practice the descender stroke separately before returning to the full letter.
