Lowercase b

The lowercase b belongs to the ascender loop family.
It begins with a tall looped ascender, then moves into a controlled body shape and exit. The goal is to keep the loop narrow, the shaded stroke steady, and the lower body balanced.
Do not make the ascender loop too wide. A large loop can make the letter look weak and unstable.
Practice slowly and focus on five things:
Study the loop size first. The ascender should stay tall, narrow, and controlled.
- Start with a smooth ascender loop.
- Keep the loop narrow and controlled.
- Pull the shaded stroke down with steady pressure.
- Keep the lower body balanced.
- Finish with a clean exit hairline.
If the top loop feels shaky, practice the ascender loop alone before writing the full letter.
