Lowercase l

The lowercase l belongs to the ascender loop family.
It is one of the cleanest ways to train tall loop control. The goal is a narrow loop, a steady shaded stroke, and a graceful hairline exit.
The l should feel light and upright, not heavy or overdrawn.
Practice slowly and focus on five things:
Use this letter to check tall-loop control without extra complexity.
- Start with a smooth ascender loop.
- Keep the loop narrow.
- Pull down with steady pressure.
- Release cleanly near the baseline.
- Finish with a light exit hairline.
If the loop leans too much, check the slant before repeating.
